A cinematic product film celebrating inclusive design. This piece follows users of mobility devices as they interact with the JanSport Adaptive Backpack and Crossbody, showing the independence and style these bags provide.

This project was guided by two priorities: authenticity and accessibility. We wanted to honour JanSport’s inclusive mission by portraying the bags in real use, without a script or overt messaging. Our system hinged on controlled lighting, restrained movement and intentional framing to let the product and its users lead the narrative.
By stripping away commercial gimmicks, the film becomes an exercise in clarity. It shows how thoughtful design – from easy release buckles to customizable straps – removes barriers for people with limited mobility. The discipline of observing and responding to real interaction informs every creative decision, allowing the product’s purpose to emerge naturally.
This film documents real people with limited mobility using JanSport’s Adaptive Backpack and Crossbody. Instead of staged demonstrations, the camera observes natural interaction – attaching the bag to a wheelchair, opening it with easy release buckles and finger loops, and adjusting loops for a secure fit. The focus stays on hands, textures and movement, honouring the product’s research‑driven design.
Working in collaboration with Disability:IN, JanSport spent three years testing and refining these bags to make them stylish, functional and inclusive. The backpack fits securely against a mobility device’s backrest and has a shortened height, decreased depth and padded body for easy access. It includes anchor straps, push handle loops and no‑dangle shoulder straps with finger loop adjustments. The crossbody attaches to various devices, features a structured front panel, a one‑handed open/close and a SaniStash pocket. Our film captures these features up close, bringing forward both the design details and the confidence they give the user.
